Well, the people of Oaxaca took great joy in telling us that traditional Zapotec food actually was mostly vegan � because the land here is too rocky and mountainous for grazing animals, so people always relied on peppers, cacti and chillis to give them the nutrients they need. From here, we will ride south, stopping at various villages along the old trading route. Here, we will cross the river into the old town where you will have an opportunity to explore a Zapotec archeological site, dating back to BC. |
